Prized Possession
Debra liked the ring as a bit of dress-up jewelry, and enjoyed it for the next 33 years, but not treating it as something particularly precious. Over time, it seemed too big for Debra, and it ended up in the back of a drawer mostly. She had held a strange attachment to the ring, having worn it for more than three decades, but even the most beloved novelties need to be parted with at some stage in our long lives.
Size Matters
But while Debra had held onto this ring for so many years, and had spent many hours looking at its peculiarly pretty appearance, she had no reason to think of it as anything but a cheap trinket.
