The Ideal Piece
On one ordinary Sunday market, 22-year-old Debra Goddard left home on a quest for a ring. She had a rough idea of what she wanted, but she was open to suggestions and was going to keep an open mind. Following a lengthy search, she landed on an odd-looking and sizeable ring. Thinking that it was a pretty piece of glass, but beautifully made, Debra decided to buy it. This was no prized heirloom, but she was happy with it, nevertheless.
Eyes On The Prize
The piece was chunky and rather kitsch, but pretty, and something about it seemed special. Debra was already an experienced haggler, and with a graceful amount of pressure managed to snag it for just £10, which came to around $13. Debra was no stranger to the haggling game, and managed to slice a few pounds off the final price, a small achievement that made her feel satisfied nonetheless. The seller seemed content, too, making this an apparently wholesome deal.
