This wasn’t Richard’s first experience with the disease. He had suffered a terrible family tragedy some time in the past that was linked to it. It turned out that the disease was congenital, with his sister sadly passing to its symptoms a few years before. Richard reasonably fell into anxiety, experiencing a sense of ruin. If his sister had it, chances were that more people in his family could be harboring the illness. On top of it all, he feared the disease had been inherited by his children.
