Richard was selfless enough to turn his fears from himself to his children, and he asked the doctor some deeply troubling questions regarding their future. Thankfully, the doctor was at hand to convince Richard that his kids would not receive the disease. It brought him comfort learning this from an experienced physician, as no one else could convince him that things would be alright. His comfort was short-lived, though, as the physician would brief him further on the matter.

If you know anything about genetics and biological inheritance, then you might have figured out how it was that Richard’s kids did not inherit his disease. Richard was then informed on the only way that his children could surely not inherit the disease. He still recalls how devastating it was to be educated on the loss of his fertility due to the disease, the doctor telling him that he and his partner Emma would experience troubles if attempting to birth more kids due to his infertility.
