The policeman finally spoke, and it wasn’t anything good that came out of his hesitant mouth. Jazwinski was shocked to learn from the cop that he would be issued with a ticket. Strangely, that wouldn’t come to be. The policeman informed him that it wasn’t for speeding. If not for that, then what else was the young man in trouble for? With the most basic offense out of the way, William began to fear that there were far worse charges that he was about to be slammed with.

To add to the confusion, the policeman informed William that he was not being stopped for any specific reason. The young man was then entering newfound levels of incredulity, fueled by another pained period of silence shared by the two. They then returned to the awkward standoff, with William sitting uncomfortably and the police officer simply staring at him blankly. Whatever William was being stopped for, the police officer was clearly having trouble expressing what exactly.
