While William had been fixated on his own issues, he had not previously considered how badly those that lost family members from combat were affected. Wholesome content like this was bound to be picked up by the masses, touching so many people. Too often, the physical, emotional, and psychological sufferings of veterans go on ignored or unacknowledged by society. As civilians cannot empathize with the experiences that veterans survived, they often fail to be sensitive. A post like William’s would raise plenty of awareness. It wasn’t long before William’s post was being responded to by tens of thousands of people!
