Those who have served will often decorate their vehicles with stickers. Jazwinski was used to being saluted or commended with a honk by passing drivers. Still, being pulled over by an officer of the law was a novel way of expressing appreciation! The officer could have just waved as he drove past, rather than causing all that panic and time-wasting for the young man. Still, William was not convinced that the weird situation had ended.

It Didn’t End There
That being said, the veteran was relieved that he was not in trouble, and that he had not broken the law or endangered anyone with his driving. William’s anxiety melted into appreciation, kindly thanking the policeman. He referenced his bumper sticker happily, expressing his pleasure at having served. Things didn’t quite finish there, though. William’s weird and wonderful ride had only just begun! The police officer had more in store for William, and he was not going to get off the hook so easily.
