Claire and Cal had an adventurous spirit because they had met in the French Alps of all places. It had been ski season, and they spotted each other on the slopes. After a couple of dates, they realised they wanted a fling to turn into something more serious. A European road trip later, and they were ready to introduce each other to their families. The pair was quick to decide to chronicle their journey towards refurbishing the manor, publishing an online blog to help track their progress. The idea was to take something very challenging, and to turn it into a project that would not only help them grow as a couple, but would also inspire others to show grit and determination in situations of great adversity. An Instagram account was created too, not long after the blog went live.
