Local Hero
There was no doubt, in many people’s minds, that Adam was a hero. He was an incredibly inspirational figure who had even motivated Jace, Candice’s son. The young man said that Adam had inspired him to improve the world around him, just like Adam does. Candice’s son went so far as to offer Adam help with the repair job, something that Adam greatly appreciated. This is the kind of selfless man that every community needs.

I’m Not A Hero
It wasn’t the first time that Adam had been called a hero, however. During his military service, Adam had made an incredible sacrifice to save the lives of his brothers in arms. Not that he would be rewarded for his heroic sacrifice, though, as Adam developed intense Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder following the event. The one thing that he found eased the horror was being charitable and studying. He was assured that his benevolence could erase the trauma.
