Decent Condition
The purse was a little tricky to make out at first as it was covered in mud from the bottom of the lake. Once he had cleaned it off a bit in the clear water, he saw that it was slightly faded but still in a surprisingly great condition. When opened up, the men found some valuables inside. While it wasn’t easy to tell what some of the items were, there was one in particular that caught Ben’s eye right away.

Overcoming Initial Disappointment
At first 11-year-old Brodie felt quite das and disappointed that he didn’t catch what was supposed to be a gigantic fish, but he quickly overcame this when he realized they had stumbled onto something special. He had been convinced that it was a fish, because of how the rod was bobbing! But soon enough the disappointed subsided and he became excited at the prospect of discovering some treasure!
