Begging
Richard would still stick to his guns, however, and was not about to admit that he had done anything wrong. Richard was convinced that he had raised his sons to be intelligent and moral enough to understand why he went through with the suing. This was not an attack that he had carried out for selfish or personal reasons. He said this shortly after the twin, Joel, came out of hiding, much to Richard’s great surprise.
Knife in the Back
Richard waited with bated breath to hear what his son had to say after all this time. But Richard would not be gaining another supporter in his corner. Rather, Joel labeled his father as “manipulative”, a condemnation that surfaced while Richard featured on a television special begging for his sons to speak to him. Joel believed that his father had no right to air their dirty laundry so publically. The boys had also been kept in the dark.
