A Sorely Required Exchange
Although William was oblivious to his need for love prior to this experience, he confessed that an embrace was sorely required. Similar to the majority of returning veterans, William had recently completed his PTSD therapy. While many people will serve in the military, and enjoy incredible experiences in the service of their country’s interests, many will suffer terribly violent, terrifying, and tragic occurrences. These men and women that survive such chaos then live on with PTSD.

This therapy program was designed to aid veterans in integrating back into society following the inhumane experiences of war in the Middle East. When their time on the battlefield ends physically, the mental effects that soldiers suffer can easily last for many years, if not a lifetime. After living through the most stressful events imaginable. Returning to a normal way of life can be a very difficult transition for many veterans. William informed the policeman that he was fresh out of PTSD therapy.
