Having just spent thirty thousands pounds on the purchase of the manor, the couple didn’t know where they were going to turn to get the cash to carry out the repairs on the project. They had an initial budget to work with for the apartment they had their eye on, but this was on an entirely new level. As it turns out, being able to carry out this refurb would require them to stop everything, including forfeiting their lifestyle, holidays and more.

Renovating any property requires some sacrifices, but in this case, things were taken to an entirely new level. Cal and Claire had to give up their accommodation back home, rent a caravan and start to live in it in the garden of the manor for an indefinite period. Their families could not believe what they were doing, but realised that given the mistake that had been made, this was the only option. Tough times called for drastic measures.
