Cal wasn’t aware that all sales were final, and after finding out that they had offered the highest bid and won the wrong property, his stomach dropped to his knees. He knew he had to call Claire and tell her the news. Although it might seem like she would have been angry, her response was actually a lot calmer than he anticipated. Perhaps she couldn’t process the mistake at the time, but soon it would sink in quickly.

After seeing the manor they had bought, and realising that they had bought it at somewhat of a steal, the pair turned their attention to what they would need to do to repair it. The two families agreed that the best course of action would be to take on the repairs, and to try and turn a profit on this gargantuan property. At this point, they didn’t know just how much work was waiting for them when they actually got there for the first time.
