Truck Toppled Over
One of the many challenges the couple had to deal with was a truck that overturned because of the weight of the bricks. It doesn’t help that the region is known for its rainy spells, each of which turns a sandy foundation into a muddy one. Although it took some work to get the truck back on the road, and it meant manually moving bricks one at a time, Cal and Claire never lost hope along the way.

It’s one thing to have to renovate the structure of a house that has been badly damaged, or is busy deteriorating from old age. It’s another thing entirely when the building itself is furnished with items that also need tossing out, mostly because of mold. Cal and Claire not only had to physically rebuild a lot of the manor, but they also had to get rid of a large amount of unusable junk that had been left there by the previous owners.
