Aside from being a test of will, patience and perseverance, this kind of project was also a test of the strength of Claire and Cal’s relationship. The pair had gone through a couple of challenges in their relationship before, but nothing that was on this level. Talking about it later, Claire mentioned that being an optimist certainly helped. She wasn’t about to punish Cal for the incorrect bid, and knew that they had to work through the project together even on the hardest of days.

With a project of this magnitude, it helps to keep the final goal in mind at all times. Even if you are still very far from completing it, knowing that it will be over at some point can be a great motivator to actually tick small goals off from your list. Cal and Claire had both been raised with this kind of mentality, which made it a lot easier for both to stay motivated, especially on the days when it felt like they would never reach their final goal.
