Giving Up Working Full-Time
Because of the extent of the project, the couple had to give up their full-time jobs and dive head first into the task at hand. They weren’t going to be able to do it alone, however. Teaching their followers about the power of community, they asked for help from people in the area. In no time at all, they had someone out to clear out some of the sidewalk dirt that had accumulated over the preceding years.

Making Ends Meet
Although Claire and Cal gave up their full-time jobs, they still needed to find a way to make ends meet while they were working on the project. Cal decided to take on a few odd jobs in the area, which at the same time helped to introduce him to a couple of the locals too. That way, their story gained more attention, and others stepped up in order to help the pair get through the DIY renovation safely and efficiently.
