The Knowing Jeweler
Despite Lydia’s panicked state upon entering the jeweler’s store, the professional had smiled at her and said hello kindly to the sole customer in his shop. Lydia hurriedly explained what had happened while she was out for a run, and urged the jeweler to fix the ring. But as the man leaned in to inspect the ring, his eyes widened as he realized that this was not his first time holding the piece, something that he told Lydia, despite being unable to remember where and when.

Lydia hesitated for a moment and gathered her panicked thoughts before beginning the story of the ring. She told the curious jeweler about how her mother had come into possession of the ring, and how she was so young and afraid when it had happened. While Lydia described how her mother had swiped the piece, the jeweler halted the woman and claimed that this story could not possibly be true. Lydia would be bowled over when the man revealed something related to the story.
