No Turning Back
When the safe’s cover swung out, the locksmith and the Redditor were confronted with a pile of bricks and rocks with a small water pool. As expected, they were rather perplexed. When EvilEnglish looked at the pile of bricks, he knew there was more to this sight.
He described how “I remember that there was a pipe leak in the house a few years back. I’m sure some of the water from that had accumulated in the safe.” Although it all seemed like rubbish, what appeared to be a pile of crates or books appeared. Could it be that he’d found the famous ancient valuables his grandmother had told him about in his childhood? A deeper investigation was needed, so he started digging around…
Initially Disappointed
The industrious pair felt forlorn as they commenced scoping out the objects out the safe. Initially, when they took out the bricks, they believed that this safe they had toiled over merely protected a collection of empty crates, a handful of coins, and some rusty coins, as well as some rotten books ruined by water.
It was when EvilEnglish started giving up on his treasure hunt that he began inspecting the ‘junk’ better. It soon dawned on him that this collection was actually far pricier than was first believed. Further, more valuables waited for them deeper in the vault…
