Didn’t End There
Before the man had confronted the bullies, he had looked over at Joey to make sure that he was not injured. His first concern was his child’s safety, and he needed to be certain that his son was alright before raising his voice at the teenagers and demanding to know if any of them felt ashamed at not having stopped the hectoring of a small child. Everyone that had seen the act was involved in some way.
Recompense
The man stooped to pick up the ball and returned it to Joey. The young boy could not believe what had just happened. When it seemed like all hope had been lost, his biggest protector had appeared like his real-life guardian angel. Finally, a daily occurrence for the small child had turned in his favor. The man demanded that the ruffians exit the park and find more acceptable entertainment elsewhere where they could not hurt others.
