Countless times humans have been attacked by dogs who are in similar positions as this dog was because they got too close. It generally happens because they are scared and terrified and are only trying to protect themselves as they see the potential rescuer as a threat. Although these people were only trying to help, the dog is stuck in a state of paranoia and panic, seeing humans as nothing but threats, which they sadly often are.

Sometimes you have to bribe them to lure them into coming to you, and Loreta used a cheeseburger as that luring tactic. Just like a fisherman who uses bait, she was hopeful it would help to get this dog out. The dog’s mind and body were then fighting each other.
