As she was being carried to the cage, Rain suddenly noticed someone who looked all too familiar, holding the opening of the cage. It was Carey Linnell. Linnell was the one who made the initial call to the shelter, and instead of getting in the cage, Rain went straight into Linnell’s arms. Everyone was shocked to see Rain being friendly with a human being after she had shown nothing but fear and mistrust. What kind of relationship did Rain and Linnell share?

Rain’s response was as though she knew Linnell and had that level of trust for her, and they watched as the dog ran up to her willingly. Suddenly, Rain was brightening up, and was actually enjoying the touch of a human being. The woman and the dog seemed to have some kind of history. Somehow she had the feeling Carey was there to help her. Rain had difficulty trusting the rescuers, but with Carey, she seemed at ease.
