At one stage shortly after the introduction of the queen, the hive seemed to stop thriving. David and all his followers held their breath. Luckily, it seemed to only be a transition period and the bees soon resumed their busy lives as normal.

Everyone following this incredible story was fascinated by these bees who had not only survived for years in a wall but who had built a record size hive and were now managing to adapt to a new vertical hive with a new queen. The homeowners started noticing the noise created by the hive as it grew to its massive size.
