The encounter was so brief in fact, that neither of them even got each other’s names. Not thinking that they would ever see each other again, they didn’t feel the need to ask. How many people have you encountered in your life for just a moment, knowing for certain that you would never see them again? Little did they know that in a short time from now, they would start spending a lot of time together.

Heidi was overjoyed by her new apartment, which was exactly what she had been looking for in the first place. It had taken some time to get to this point, but all the sacrifices had been more than worth the trouble. The space was smaller, but more peaceful, and a private space just for her. There was nobody around to disrupt her routine, or to judge her for a night in, eating a tub of ice cream and binge-watching a series.
