Gerald dragged the crib inside his workshop. He looked around his workspace and saw wooden pieced, unfinished benches, and an ATV constructed with PVC pipes, all strewn across a lifetime collection of valuable tools.

The old man got to work upgrading the white crib, chopping wood, mixing paint and banging nails in. Once the job was done, he knew that it would put a smile on Valerie’s face. Or so he hoped, as the woman had been through a lot.
The Tribute
Thanks to his many years of experience and natural talent, Gerald transformed the crib that almost ended up gathering dust in a garage corner into a gorgeous and vibrant bench. This was a tribute to the special life that had never come to be.

The Tribute
Gerald felt like this was the ideal manner to pay respects to the child that should have come into this world. He said, “An unused crib is a sad reminder. A bench is more of a memorial. It’s part of that sad happening, yet it’s not a reminder like an empty crib would be.”
