The workers at Peepal Farm found Avni after getting a call from an animal rights activist who had seen her hanging from some power lines and told them where she was. As she was hurt so badly when they got there, they were afraid it might be too late to save her.

Peepal Farm was finally a secure haven for Avni, yet she got the distinct impression that she was all by herself there. The ache she was in stemmed from the fact that she missed being a member of the one and the only family she had ever known, and it wouldn’t go away. Since monkeys are sociable creatures, it is in their genetic make-up to prefer communal living situations.

She struggled with being by herself for a long, but eventually, she struck up a friendship with a stranger who she had previously been unfamiliar with. Avni had an incredible bond of kinship with a feline companion, just like Horace had done before her. They haven’t been separated ever since rescue cat Billo made the decision to snuggle up next to her and hasn’t moved from her side since then.
