When reviewing the timeline, one sees that Kate abruptly took up an interest in Judaism upon falling pregnant for the first time, peculiarly deciding that the boys would all enjoy Hebrew middle names. Richard’s memory of this served him as the first big lead in the mystery dad case. Whoever this man was, he was obviously Jewish. Richard then began searching his mind for any Jewish men that had come into his life or his family’s inner circle.

Richard described this whole ordeal as very surreal, relating it to being in The Matrix. He felt like the protagonist of the trilogy, Neo, realizing that he lived in a dream world. Not surprisingly, considering that his entire life turned out to be a farce. He was continually stunned by the fact that he was a dad while being unable to procreate, and that his line ended there and then. He was going to make the future as bright as possible for everyone involved.
