Relying On Heat Receptors
The snake’s diet is entirely composed of flesh, with birds and small animals serving as the primary sources of nutrition. However, since the python’s eyesight isn’t powerful, it must rely on heat receptors lining its jaws and chemical sensors on its tongue to close in on its prey in order to survive. And killing for the Burmese python is a display of raw might on its part.

Eat Their Prey Whole
Because the Burmese python is a constrictor, it will wrap its body around the victim it has chosen once it has grasped it between its fangs, as seen in the video above. The snake will then suffocate its victim until it is dead, crushing the breath out of it. With its flexible jaws, the Burmese python can eat its prey whole, and it does it with little effort.
