Initially, he wondered if perhaps the mine was haunted and this was the reason the miners left in a hurry without their gold. He felt that whatever it was in the mine making such spooky sounds had somehow followed him into his house. He considered that he could simply be grasping at straws for answers.

He thought perhaps his adrenalin rush may have spooked him, although, at that moment he heard whispered emerge from all around him. The whispers grew louder and he questioned his reality at that moment. Fear engulfed him as he sat in horror at what he was experiencing. The whispers stopped almost as soon as they had started and the weather around him grew icy and cold.
