He started out by cracking jokes about the family for the guests sitting at the other tables in the room. He made sure that he was telling jokes at a level that was loud enough for the low-income family to hear him, and he made sure that the jokes were appropriate. He started saying things like “what is such a band of losers doing at a classy restaurant like this?” and other comments along the same lines.

There was a complete lack of response from the family in any manner, shape, or form. They carried on eating and chatting amongst themselves as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening. Tony found himself growing more and more agitated by this, leading him to behave increasingly disruptively.
