Not Connecting
When you step into a room and are not sure what you are looking at or where to focus, then it means the decor has no focal point and that in itself is a problem. This setting can leave anyone overwhelmed and confused, so you want to ensure the design and decor connects at a point or in multiple ways. A room like the one in the picture below has far too many zany elements that make a bizarrely surreal theme that no one can really understand or appreciate.

Use Up the Dead Space
When you line all your furniture against the wall, you leave a space in the center that has nothing complimenting it. But, this can easily be fixed. You can shove around a few pieces of the furniture to use up this space and bring some “light” to the room. This does not mean that you need to bring a whole new room’s worth of furniture in, as just a few new pieces can complete and tie the whole room together in a pleasing way.
