Every too often, we see people going out to buy furniture without measuring the space they have available. When choosing sofas and chairs, ensure you are aware of the space you have to use, so it doesn’t throw off balance in the decoration. Imagine this: you ask some friends to help you lug an enormous couch that you bought on an impulse (thanks to a once-off online sale) into your living room, only to find that it does not fit in.

You don’t want to go for silk rugs because they will only create a mess when they come in contact with lots of people moving on them. Instead, you want to go for hard-wearing fabric when buying rugs for the living room. After all, lots of feet will be moving through this space. If your rug is in a living room that has doors leading into the garden, then you can bet that pets, kids, and guests at a backyard barbecue will traipse in enough mud to ruin that expensive silk beauty.
