Times have changed tremendously from the age-old gold fixtures decking every room in the house. They are not as interesting as they were before, so adjusting the style of your living room is a great idea. That being said, a bit of gold can certainly make a statement and bring a bit of a “wow” factor to a space. Just make sure that gold would go with your overall theme, as there are plenty of ways to make gold seem kitsch if it does not flow with the rest of the ambiance.
