A lot of hotels these days require you to leave the key in the power slot to receive electricity. However, if you have to turn everything on and off when there or leaving, you will get frustrated over time. As such, requesting a second key will be a good option, so at least your room will remain cool for the day while you are out. You can also be assured that you will not be locked out of your room in the chance that you lose your first key.

Sometimes a lot of these hotel rooms can have a weird smell – not that the room isn’t cleaned – but there is just that one smell you can pin something to. However, you can change all that with a car freshener when you put it on the air conditioning vent. So, no more funky room when you leave and get back. You could also simply complain to the manager, and they will send some cleaning staff in.
