While Rick had gone about his treasure hunting business, he had entrusted Kelly with taking detailed notes and records of everything that they had found. This had been a relatively straightforward task, to begin with for Kelly, but their last few mentioned finds had made them both realize that they had little idea of what they were keeping track of. Whatever theories they had written down were now looking completely naïve. They were clearly in the wrong.

This fearsome room turned out to be the true treasure trove they had been seeking, turning all their previous finds into trinkets in comparisons. There were piles of jewelry probably belonging to rich people, stacks of silver ingots, and mounds of different countries’ currencies. It was like some master thief syndicates’ entire takings, now being mindlessly plundered by an elderly couple who were clearly way out of their depth. The irony of stealing from a thief was not lost on Rick and Kelly.
