Despite there being no scientific proof for the mailbox hack, that is not to say that it doesn’t work. There simply is not enough research or scientific proof to the method for an academic ruling, according to the etymology specialist. We would love to see a study conducted, though.

Even if you are yourself doubtful as to whether the dryer sheet method works, Strickley has pleaded for owners to allow him and his colleagues to do it. In his Reddit user, he assured the users that if they find a mysterious dryer sheet in their mailbox, it was placed there with good intent. All they want is to scare dangerous insects away from their workplace. So, there you have it: the mailman’s savior!
