Stacey Orest, the headmistress of Desert Cove reiterated that the staff did not intend to cause humiliation with their reminder stamps. School policy was that cafeteria staff were meant to talk to the children and ask them if they would lie a stamp, or if they would prefer a reminder slip. This clearly hadn’t happened in Cayden’s instance.

The school was hardly apologetic about the incident and didn’t seem to realize the gravity of the archaic stamp system and what it did to children. Unhappy parents knew they had to start to petition for the removal of these stamps, which simply don’t have a place in modern society anymore.
